Sodus, NY – Donath led all 25 laps from his front row start.  It was not easy by any means, during the event, the Donath Motor Worx powered mount had to survive several restarts but the car was up to the challenge.

“The car was hooked, I could pull the front end off the ground each time.” Donath noted. “This is a big win for us, not necessarily for me but for the team.  It was frustrating for the Lewandowski family last year and I’m just glad we can get this car in victory lane.” said Shawn shortly afterwards.  "I’m just proud that we all stuck it out and a great way to start the year”

The challenges during the race were plentiful as Stewart Friesen, Chuck Hebing and Cory Sparks all in MEM / Eagles took their shots at Donath in the closing stages.

Friesen was forced to drop out with issues under the hood while getting ready to make his bid at the top spot.  Next up was Hebing as he pulled to the inside of Donath on one lap then to the outside thenext only to pull to the pits with a brake issue.   This left Sparks to take up the challenge who came from the tenth starting spot as well as Steve Poirier finishing with a podium finish coming from 12th.

Sparks picked up his heat race and the Dash as Poirier got a heat win as well.

Other MEM customers, Etienne Girard, came home 7th with Kevin Ward Jr. in his MEM / GF1 11th while he was still figuring out the new car.

Justin Barger of Montrose, NY lined up on the outside pole to Dale Blaney for the start of the 25-lap  feature and
led the first circuit before he took over. And from there Blaney began an assault on the field in the non-stop event  that saw him move into lapped traffic on the seventh tour.

Greg Hodnett, who started eighth in the field, would eventually end up  second, taking over the spot from Barger with five laps to go. But by the time he had secured the spot, Blaney was in the middle of the backstretch as he crossed the start-finish line on the frontstretch.

Hodnett was unable to bite into Blaney’s massive lead before the finish however, instead riding home second by 6.392 seconds. Barger, in his MEM-supported ride, finished a solid third.

Sodus, NY:  The 2014 Sprint Season has finally gotten off the ground after a long and grueling winter off season.  MEM / Eagle teams of Nick Cooper, Dan Kuhn as well as Darryl and Alysha Ruggles made the most of it at the Canandaigua Motorsports Park Ice Breaker.

Nick Cooper and his Cooper Clips Racing program was stout right out  of the box leading every competitive lap on the evening sweeping both  his heat race and the 20 lap "A" Main.  In victory lane Nick commented,  "This Eagle almost drives itself, it was near perfect".

Dan Kuhn and his family run operation were good early and held on to a nice 7th place finish in the "A".  The Father/Daughter team of Darryl and Alysha Ruggles were back in action as a team since Alysha was  sidelined back in July from a nasty flip at CMP.  Darryl was solid with a 2nd place run and acknowledged "I missed it a bit on the set up, but  will take the 2nd place behind a fellow MEM/Eagle chauffeur".  Alysha  started well, faded a bit and then got "PO'd" in her words.  "When a few cars passed me I knew I had to drive the car harder and I went better  the harder I drove my new Eagle chassis".  She came home a few feet out  of 3rd for a 4th place finish first time out since her back injury.
