A prolific supporter of both the CRSA 305 Sprint Series and Patriot Sprint Tour in past seasons, new Land of Legends Raceway promoter Paul Cole has provided yet another monetary boost for winged warriors invading Ontario County in 2018.

Creation of the inaugural Land of Legends Raceway 360 Sprint Classic Series is set to encompass four race dates with Empire Super Sprint and Patriot Sprint Tour travelers in line to share a lucrative $4,000 point fund posted by Cole's own SuperGen Products business, a major supplier of Champion Power Equipment.

“The Land of Legends has established a solid reputation in sprint car racing over the years and offering this type of point fund further emphasizes our effort to grow the division,” remarked Cole, who in January inked Mike Emhof Motorsports as the title sponsor of Canandaigua's weekly 305 sprint car class to reveal his intentions from the start. “The 305s are a good feeder class for the 360s, they naturally go hand-in-hand so investing in both groups will help out everybody in the long run.”

A-Verdi Storage Containers presents round #1 of the LOLR 360 Sprint Classic Series on May 5, with top touring Patriot pilots headlining the first 'Saturday Spectacular' in the first full month of short-track competition in Canandaigua. Patriots also close out the four-race stint alongside GRIT Sportsman contenders in the final mid-week show of the season on Wed. August 29.

In between, the stars and cars from the Empire Super Sprint organization are showcased during the second and third series stops at the fairgrounds. ESS doubles with the mighty Big-Block Modifieds when Honeoye Auto Parts presents a Super DIRTcar Series showdown on Thr., July 5 before returning on Aug. 4 in another 'Saturday Spectacular' sponsored by Tradition Chevrolet/GMC.

A lion's share of $1,500 from the $4,000 pot is saved for the overall 360 Sprint Classic Series champion, with points allocated to drivers in qualifying races as well as each 25-lap A-Main. A driver MUST enter all four series events to be eligible for season-ending awards that include $750 2nd-place, $500 3rd-place, $300 4th-place, $250 5th-place, $200 6th-place, $150 7th-place, $100 8th-place, $100 9th-place, $100 10th-place and $50 for last-place.

Early favorites to claim the 360 Sprint Classic Series crown are all-time Patriot winner Chuck Hebing and Frenchman Steve Poirier who tops the ESS career win list. Hebing has taken five checkered flags at LOLR (also 2 ESS wins) and Poirier has two (also 2 Patriot wins) in their recognized divisions. A year ago Jason Barney, Larry Wight and Bryan Howland scored ESS victories while Poirier won the last Patriot feature race staged at the legendary half-mile clay oval in 2016.

The '18 season gets underway on April 28 when Filer's Powersports in nearby Macedon N.Y. presents the first 'Saturday Spectacular.' A full card of Pepsi Big-Block Modified (show up points only), Donath Motor Worx Sportsman, Big Dog Country Street Stock, Mike Emhof Motorsports 305 Sprint Car and New Legends Sportsman racing highlights the highly anticipated lid-lifter with area youth baseball teams benefitting from the first weekly 50/50 raffle.

Race teams can enter the pits at 4:00 then join a 5:45 driver's meeting before cars in the first warm-up session roll onto the track at 6 p.m. Grandstand gates swing open at 5 p.m. and the first qualifying heat starts promptly at 7 o'clock.

The CRSA Sprints are among the divisions competing in the Outlaw Super Saturday Special. The winner of the CRSA Sprints will receive a $500 payout with second place receiving $300, 3rd place - $250, 4th place - $225, and 5th place - $200. Additionally, those taking the green will receive $150.

CRSA Sprints marketing partner, SuperGen Products, will be giving away a Champion Power Equipment 9000 generator to one lucky driver and a Champion Power Equipment 3500 generator to a lucky fan in attendance on Saturday. Giveaway details will be available at Outlaw Speedway.

Fans will be able to see the Stars and Cars of the respective series’ and pick up 2016 racing schedules.

Two shows will kick off Friday evening. The Olean Center Mall Stock Car Show will open Friday night in Olean, NY with 2015 Canadian Sprint Tour Champion “The Juice” Jared Zimbardi and “The Flying Physician” Doc Collins showcasing their cars for the fans.

On the opposite side of the state, the Northeast Auto Racing Expo goes off at the Rotterdam Square Mall in Schenectady, NY. The show will run through Sunday. Warren Alexson, Kory Gurney, and Chad Miller are three competitors doing double duty on the PST and CRSA tours that will be showcasing their sprinters. Josh Flint will have his 305 sprint on display representing the CRSA Sprints.

The Orange County Fair Speedway Annual Motorsports Show is a two-day affair beginning on Saturday at the Orange County Fairground Arena in Middletown, NY. Representing in the heart of CRSA Sprints country will be Christian Rumsey and Thomas Radivoy.

Central NY will not miss out on the racing shows and fans will be treated to two shows beginning on Saturday. Finger Lakes Speed World will be at the Finger Lakes Mall in Auburn, NY. Darryl Ruggles and Lee Sanders will be representing the Patriot Sprint Tour for the weekend. In addition, the Mike Emhof Motorsports-Patriot Sprint Tour-CRSA Sprints sponsored 600 Microsprint of Johnny Kolosek will be on display.

Nearly due South of the Auburn event, the Arnot Mall Car Show will take place in Horseheads, NY at the Arnot Mall on Saturday and Sunday. Patriot Sprint Tour regular Kyle Drum will be in attendance with his 360 sprint.
The Patriot Sprints and the CRSA Sprints will kick off their racing seasons on Saturday, April 23rd. PST will roll off at Merrittville Speedway and CRSA will take the green at Fonda Speedway.

]]><![CDATA[2016 Patriot Sprint Tour Series Schedule Announced]]>Mon, 25 Jan 2016 21:46:22 GMThttp://www.mikeemhof.com/news/2016-patriot-sprint-tour-series-schedule-announced(Sodus, NY) The Patriot Sprint Tour (PST) is pleased to announce its tentative racing schedule for the 2016 season which includes 36 events at 22 different venues, encompassing New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and the Canadian province of Ontario. A total of 27 events comprise the PST American tour plus nine additional shows in the mix to make up the PST Canadian tour.

“We’re a bit ahead with the 2016 schedule and I’m working with a few track promoters in the Northeast in hopes that we can add another few races,” said Mike Emhof, PST Owner.

Fans throughout the Northeast will have the opportunity to experience the excitement of 360 Sprint car racing. Racers will get to enjoy the diversity at a variety of venues that the PST offers.

The first PST Canadian points race kicks off in Thorold, Ontario at the Merrittville Speedway for the annual ‘Spring Sizzler,’ paying $2,000-to-win on April 23. The first PST American Series points race will be a long awaited return for the Patriots at the Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, NY on Sunday, May 1. This will be the first series race at the Quarter Mile Oval since 2005.

Tracks familiar to the Patriot Sprint Tour such as Canandaigua Motorsports Park and the high banks of Woodhull are up next. The tour rolls on to Eastern New York State for the first time in a number of years, attacking the Albany-Saratoga Speedway and Fonda Speedway on Memorial Day Weekend. Both events are $2,000-to-win paydays.

A couple of memorial events dot the schedule. The Patriots will make their annual trek south for the Joe Whitcomb Memorial at the Selinsgrove Speedway, a $2,571-to-win race with time trials on June 18. That weekend, the winner’s share reaches $3,500-to-win at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park.

A pair of races presented by Bonnell Collision Centers will fill a weekend in late June with one race at Raceway 7 in Conneaut, OH on June 24 and Stateline Speedway in Busti, NY on June 25. 

The series continues its traditional holiday bonus races to celebrate our country’s independence at Little Valley Speedway (July 1), followed by Mercer Raceway Park (July 2), and the Eriez Speedway (July 3) rounding out a full throttle sprint car holiday weekend.

Other notable tracks hosting PST American Series races include Ransomville Speedway, Brewerton Speedway, Fulton Speedway, Penn Can Speedway.

The PST Canadian Series will swing through Brockville Ontario Speedway and Cornwall Motor Speedway on two summer weekends. The big payday and a weekend with great prestige will be hosted by Oshweken Speedway for the $12,000-to-win Canadian Sprint Car Nationals.

The current schedule includes seven familiar racing venues from this past season. A majority of races will be held at speedways east of I-81.

The season will kick off at Fonda Speedway in Fonda, NY. The ½-mile speed plant will host three races in 2016. Mike Kiser of Cooperstown won the last Racesaver® CRSA Sprints race at Fonda held in September 2015.

Also hosting three races will be Penn Can Speedway in Susquehanna, PA, the first of which will be on May 20th. Eddie Strada of Lake Ariel, PA took the checkers during the tour’s last visit in August.

Glen Ridge Motorsports Park, in Fultonville, NY, is a new addition to the tour schedule in 2016.

The Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY will host a tour high of five races in 2016. Last year, five races were hosted and four different drivers visited victory lane. Cory Sparks of Edinburg, NY, hometown driver Brian Krummel, and Kevin Nagy of East Brunswick, NJ scored wins along with Middletown local Scott Goodrich capturing two of his nine wins in the season on the track in his hometown.

Also hosting four races will be I-88 Speedway in Afton, NY. Goodrich also claimed two victories at I-88 last season, claiming half of the wins. Krummel claimed his second win of 2015 at I-88 last July. Emily Vanlnwegen of Sparrow Bush, NY captured her second win of the season in Afton, her first coming earlier in the season at the Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, NY.

Five Mile Point Speedway, along with Albany-Saratoga Speedway and Utica-Rome Speedway will host a pair of Racesaver® CRSA Sprints races, bringing the current schedule to a total of 22 events.

The final 2016 Racesaver® CRSA Sprints schedule will be released at the Gater News Motorsports Expo at the NYS Fairgrounds in Syracuse on Saturday and Sunday, March 12th & 13th.

(MEM), a sprint car parts distributor and racing promotions company, has added to its holdings with the acquisition of the RACESAVER® CRSA Sprint Car Series. The purchase brings the number of series operated by MEM to three. The Patriot Sprint Tour (PST) & CNYMS Mini Sprint Series have been under ownership of MEM for several years.

During the offseason months, Mike Emhof and Mike VanDusen, owner of the CRSA series for the past five years, worked closely to finalize the details of the acquisition with a number of common goals to protect the integrity and future of the series. From race dates, to racing operations, competitors and fans can expect to see business as usual, with the exception of CRSA adopting the IMCA sanction.

“I’m glad that the series is going to continue under the same RACESAVER® format,” said VanDusen.

VanDusen’s comment reflects the premise of the series to offer stable and enforceable rules, consistent rules application, and fair purse distribution.

“Mike and his wife Debbie have done a fantastic job operating the CRSA series over the past five years and we share the goal of providing an affordable platform in a racing series that maintains a level playing field,” commented Mike Emhof.

​VanDusen will remain involved with the series in a technical supporting role at the track and as a consultant during the 2016 season.

Along with the acquisition announcement, MEM announced that Greg Hixson will be the Director of Race Operations for the RACESAVER® CRSA Sprints. Hixson has worked under the MEM umbrella in roles with the CNYMS Mini Sprints, then with PST. Hixson has also been the race director at Black Rock Speedway and Canandaigua Motorsports Park.

“Greg has worked with me many, many years and is well respected within the racing community. He’ll have the full support of the MEM organization behind him with the RACESAVER® CRSA Sprints,” expressed Emhof.

Vleck and Emhof were announced as part of RWR back in November 2014 as Media Director and Director of Racing Operations, respectively.  Before that time, the pair had also assisted with planning for the Elbridge, NY facility.

“This was not an easy decision and one that took a lot of thought,” said Vleck.  “This was an intriguing opportunity that I took very seriously and wanted nothing but the best for the fans, the teams and for Rolling Wheels, but ultimately this was the decision we had to make at this time.”

Both will continue with their lead positions with the Patriot Sprint Tour, with 26 touring dates across New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Ontario in 2015.  Vleck will also continue to operate Hot Wings Media, producing dirt racing for television while Emhof will continue to sell sprint car chassis and parts through the Mike Emhof Motorsports brand.
