Dan Kuhn and his family run operation were good early and held on to a nice 7th place finish in the "A". The Father/Daughter team of Darryl and Alysha Ruggles were back in action as a team since Alysha was sidelined back in July from a nasty flip at CMP. Darryl was solid with a 2nd place run and acknowledged "I missed it a bit on the set up, but will take the 2nd place behind a fellow MEM/Eagle chauffeur". Alysha started well, faded a bit and then got "PO'd" in her words. "When a few cars passed me I knew I had to drive the car harder and I went better the harder I drove my new Eagle chassis". She came home a few feet out of 3rd for a 4th place finish first time out since her back injury.

Doug's Dirt Diary has an interview with Alysha Ruggles discussing her recovery. Listen here. Congratulations to Darryl Ruggles scoring his 8th win and claiming the 2013 CMP 305 Championship Freisen Wins Cole Cup At the 1st Annual $7000-to-Win Cole Cup at Utica-Rome Speedway for 360 Sprints, it was 4 of the top 5 in MEM Eagles. Stewart Freisen in the Doug Emery owned and prepared 33 got the win passing Steve Poirier coming out of 4 to claim the win. Poirier was Second with Shawn Donath rounding out a great podium run coming from 13th. Cory Sparks finished 5th.
The Westward painting number 13 Eagle cruised from there to take the win. Poirier held on for 2nd with Mike Parent coming from 11th to 5th. Alain Boisvert in his first ever ESS sprint "A" main came home 13th with Patrick Vigneault finishing in 14th. The following night on the ESS tour at Autodrome Drummond it was close but no cigar for the Eagle pilots. Mike Parent, Kevin Ward Jr. and Steve Poirier chased Dylan Swiernik across the line finishing 2nd through 4th. Cory Sparks just missed the top 5 in 6th with Dale Gosselin, Lee Ladouceur, Martin Roy, and Patrick Vigneault 9 through 14. At Canandaigua Motorsports Park in the 305 Sprints, Daryl Ruggles won his third in a row at CMP as the division points leader took the lead from his daughter Alysha on lap seven and was never headed for the remainder of the event. “It was awesome to race with her,” Darryl said afterwards. “I thought she was a touch faster on the one restart.” "I saw the 99 move to second on the leader board and knew I had to go" Alysha finished a solid 3rd with MEM customers and Eagle chauffeurs Dan Kuhn getting an 8th and Nick Cooper finishing a disappointing 11th due to a flat right rear after making his way to 3rd in the main. MEM / Eagle Customer Continue Winning Ways in Month of May
At Selinsgrove Speedway on the ESS Tour Young Hot Shoe Kevin Ward Jr. brought home his new Eagle with a 10th place "A" main run after having to come from the back of a heat race just to get into the show. Other MEM / Eagle customer in the field unfortunately had some issues to deal with as Steve Poirier, Mike Parent, & Shawn Donath made the "A" with Partick Vigneault was a DNQ.
At Utica Rome Speedway on the 26th it was Steve Poirier in victory lane but he certainly had a little help as misfortune for the Eagle of Shawn Donath hand Steve the win. Donath was on a rail and had the field covered until 2 to go when a drive-line failure kept the potent number 53 ECG / Abbey Machine from victory lane. It was heartbreaking for the team as Donath commented "This new Eagle from the MEM shops is just Plain Stupid Fast, we need a finish". Poirier was very pleased with his run on the hard slick U/R surface as he bested the 1Z of Jessica Zemken and Stewart Friesen driving the Doug Emery owned and prepared number 33 Eagle. Cory Sparks rounded out the top 10. In Heat race action it looked like it was going to be a great night for the Eagle Chassis from the MEM shops as the finish was - Friesen, Sparks, Parent, Poirier. On the CRSA RaceSaver Tour the MEM / Eagle customers had what you would call a good and bad weekend. The end results didn't show how strong they all were but through the night teams took notice of the Eagle Chassis competitors. The Art Kiser Owned team with son Mike at the controls took the win with Dad directly behind him. That however was not the story as coming to the white flag it was a four way battle for the top spot as Parker Evans in his new Eagle was making his move and got caught up in a lap car spinning in front of the leaders which took both Parker and Jordan Thomas out of competition. Parker commented, the win was within our sights and I just cant seem to catch a break with the luck deal". Evans did pick up a heat race win along with Mike Kiser and Jordan Thomas. The Eagle Chassis customers continue to have strong showings in the Northeast over last weekend. Whether in a 305 RaceSaver program or a PST 360 program, the Eagle Chassis continues to run to the front. This past weekend, Nick Cooper put his new Eagle Chassis at the front of the field picking up his first "A" Main of the season at Canandaigua Motorsports Park after dominating his heat race as well. It was not an easy task in the "A" as young Dan Kuhn piloting his Eagle had the field covered for the first 15 rounds until the RR started to go away. Dan finished a fine 4th with local pilot Darryl Ruggles rounding out the top five in his Eagle Chassis with his daughter Alysha finishing another fine run in 8th. The Patriot Sprint Tour was on the High Banks of Woodhull Raceway and Eagle Pilot Shawn Donath made the most of his first ever trip to the facility. Donath wheeled his mount to a heat win and followed it up with a strong 2nd place finish on the rear bumper of the MEM supported 51 of Bryan Howland. Donath actually led lap 19 in the tightly contested "A" main. Also with strong showings in the heats were Eagle Chauffeurs Cory Sparks picking up heat race 3 and Kevin Ward Jr. a tight 2nd to Sparks. In the "A" main, Sparks was just outside the top 5-finishing 6th as Ward Jr. experienced a mechanical issue with a shock and retired late in the running after staying consistently near the top five. Other MEM Eagle customers making their debut on the Patriot Sprint Tour were Parker Evans in his new 2013 Eagle and Young Tyler Graves in his pretty 25G. Mike Emhof Motorsports is proud to announce a solid start to the 2013 season for their Eagle customers.
360 Sprint Car Racing kicked off in the Northeast finally with the Empire Super Sprints holding an event at the CanAM Motorsports Park. Steve Poirier picked up right where he left off in 2012 when he dominated his heat race and backed it up with the win in the A-Main as well. The MEM / Eagle customers had 3 of the top 4 and 5 of the top 10 finish positions on the night. Kevin Ward Jr. aboard his brand new Eagle came from 12th to finish 3rd and Mike Parent was solid all night long coming home 4th. Shawn Donath aboard the Pete Lewendowski wrenched machine overcame some minor mechanical issues in the heat to advance from the back of the B-main to the last spot into the A-main. From there Donath put on a driving clinic moving from 24th to 9th. Cory Sparks had a decent night rounding out the top ten. Martin Roy in his maiden voyage aboard his new Eagle finished a very respectable 15th. Doug Emery, Patrick Vigneault, and Clint Ide had first night issues and did not make the main event with 38 cars signed into the pit area. On Saturday the 27th the Patriot Sprint Tour Canada swung into action at the Merrittville Speedway. A solid field of 28 cars were on had for a great night of racing action. As was the case on Friday night Steve Poirier came away with the win in both his heat race and the A-main . It was no cake walk with challenges coming from 4 drivers getting along side thought out the event. Mike Parent had another solid night with a 2nd in his heat and a 6th place A-main run. Kevin Ward missed it a bit in the heat race and had to come from the B-mail He made the best of the night charging through he pack from 20th to finish 8th. Patrick Vigneault and Martin Roy worked hard all night long to overcome some mechanical woes and ended up with a 20th & 21st place finish respectively. In 305 action, MEM Eagle Customer were out in force on the CRSA Tour and at Canandaigua Motorsports Park. On the CRSA Tour Cory Sparks had a nice 3rd place run along with Parker Evans in his brand new Eagle Mount finishing 5th. Mike Kiser won his heat race but got turned over on lap one of the A-main. Art Kiser held the lead in the A-main until motor issues sidelined him. Doug Crews in his first ever event was happy with his 18th place run in the A-main. At CMP the Father-Daughter team of Darryl and Alysha Ruggles once again had strong showings. Darryl picked up his heat win and finished in 3rd in the A-main. Alysha continues to acclimate nicely to the full size sprint and came home with a nice top five finish. Nick Cooper put together a 3rd in the heat and a top 10 in the A-mail with Dan Kuhn getting his first A-main in with a fine 9th place finish.
Weekend Eagle Updates from MEM (8/27/12) The Eagle Motorsports customers of MEM have a very solid weekend to the North in Canada with ESS and PST. Four races were scheduled this past weekend in the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec for the 360 teams running with the two sanctions and the results were very solid. Leading the list was Mike Parent notching his 2nd career win while doing it Wingless at LeRPM on Sunday evening August 26th. On the Saturday Winged showed Mike was 7th and on Friday he picked up a 5th place finish at Granby. Shawn Donath continued to show his strength in the Doug Emery owned 33 with a 2nd place showing on Friday and 3rd on Saturday; Steve Poirier was solid once again in his come back run after surgery with a second and third on the weekend as well. Dale Gosselin making a rare appearance secured a 5th and 8th place run on the weekend, Lee Ladouceur had a nice weekend with a 5th and 6th place run along with Patrick Vigneault finishing up with a pair of 9th place finishes and Cory Sparks grabbed a 6th at Granby. Overall the Eagle Chassis customer had a great weekend with five of the top ten at Granby, four of the top ten in each of the LeRPM shows including the win by Parent, and Ladouceur putting an Eagle in the top 5 at Brockville.

Shawn Donath was the third Eagle in the formation of frontrunners at Utica-Rome. At Stateline Speedway, top performing Eagles included Vern Wasson with a Dash win and Scott Kreutter with a solid Top 3 finish. Corey Sparks added to his nest of Top 5 finishes in 2011 at Fonda Speedway. In the most recent week of racing action, the Eagles soared North across the International border to the Autodrome Granby and once again swept away the competition. On Night 1 of the Canadien weekend of racing action, Shawn Donath went to victory lane, followed by two more Eagle competitors, Alain Bergeron, and Steve Poirier. On Night 2 at the Autodrome Granby, the Eagles didn’t snap up a win, but there were still three that swooped to the top five when the checkers flew.
